Your data does not need its own breaking-news cycle.
This notice explains what the current JPT News website collects, why it is used, and the choices available to readers and editors.
What readers share with us
Readers can browse published stories without creating an account. If you allow analytics, the site measures page visits and product interactions such as opening, playing, completing, or sharing a story. JPT News does not intentionally send article text, form passwords, editor email addresses, or authentication tokens as analytics parameters.
Analytics and cookies
Non-essential analytics remains off until you choose “Allow analytics” in the privacy notice or cookie settings. If accepted, Google Analytics may use cookies or similar identifiers to measure use of the site. You can choose “No analytics,” clear your browser storage, block cookies, or use browser-level privacy controls. Your consent choice is stored locally so the site can remember it.

Editor accounts and publication data
Authorized editors use Firebase Authentication. The publishing system stores role information, secure session data, story drafts, published articles, cover images, and narration audio. Drafts and publishing tools are restricted to approved editor accounts.
Job applications
When you apply for a JPT News role, the application form stores the contact details, links, availability, work preferences, and written answers you submit. Applications are used for recruitment and are visible only to authorized JPT News administrators. Application answers, names, and email addresses are not sent to analytics.
The form uses Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise to prevent automated abuse. Google may process a short-lived verification token and browser or network signals, such as the user agent and IP address, to assess whether a submission is legitimate. JPT News does not store the reCAPTCHA token or the applicant’s IP address with the application; it stores only the resulting risk score and protection method for security review.
Application records may include an internal review status and private administrator notes. They are retained only as long as reasonably needed for recruitment, follow-up, operational records, and applicable obligations.
Ideas, contact messages, and continuation interest
When you send a story idea, tip, correction, partnership note, privacy request, general message, or non-binding expression of interest in the domain or publication, JPT News stores the name, reply email, selected message tag, subject, written message, and optional link or organization you provide. These submissions land in one private inbox visible only to authorized administrators.
The forms use Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise to prevent automated abuse. JPT News stores the resulting risk score and protection method, but not the reCAPTCHA token or the sender’s IP address. Message text, names, and contact details are not sent to analytics.
Inbox records may include an internal status and private administrator notes. They are retained only as long as reasonably needed to review, respond, keep correction or privacy-request records, and meet applicable obligations.
AI and this publication
JPT News is an AI media publication. AI may be used to build the product and to develop or produce editorial text, images, audio, and other creative material. That describes how the publication is made; it does not mean that visitor browsing, editor sign-in data, or analytics data is automatically sent to an AI system through this website.
The current website does not provide a public AI prompt, chat, or story-generation form. Please do not send confidential, sensitive, or personal information through editorial contact channels unless you are comfortable using that channel.
Service providers
The site uses Google Firebase services for hosting, authentication, database storage, and media storage, Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise for public-form abuse prevention, plus Google Analytics when consent is granted. Those providers process data under their own terms and privacy documentation.
Retention and security
Information is retained only as long as reasonably needed to operate, secure, understand, and improve the publication, or to meet applicable obligations. Reasonable technical safeguards are used, but no online service can promise absolute security.
Your choices and requests
You can decline analytics through the site notice. Requests concerning access, correction, or deletion can be submitted through the private contact form using the “Privacy request” tag. We may need enough information to verify that a request concerns you before acting on it.
Changes to this notice
This notice may change as the publication adds features. The date at the top will be updated when the policy changes materially.
